This region is still one of the least developed tourism areas on the island and offers a rare combination of beautiful landscapes, healthy coral reefs and traditional island culture.
Our internship follows the standards of the Professional Association of Diving Instructors and leads to the internationally recognized PADI Divemaster certification.
Whether you are discovering scuba diving for the first time or already an experienced diver, we create a personalized training program designed to guide you step by step toward becoming a professional diver.

A UNIQUE LOCATION IN EAST LOMBOK
East Lombok Dive Hotel is located directly on the beach in the district of Sambelia, on the quiet north-east coast of Lombok.
This part of the island remains largely untouched by mass tourism and offers a very authentic atmosphere.
Within a short distance you can find the ferry port connecting Lombok to Sumbawa (10 minutes away), the famous trekking routes of Mount Rinjani, Indonesia’s second-largest volcano, traditional Sasak villages where the local culture remains strong, protected ancient Lian trees and quiet beaches with sand colors ranging from white to pink.
The dive hotel is located about 2 hours from Lombok International Airport, far enough from the busy tourist areas to keep the region peaceful and natural.
MORE THAN 50 DIVE SITES
​One of the greatest advantages of diving in East Lombok is the diversity of underwater environments. From East Lombok Dive Hotel, divers have access to around 50 dive sites. Several reefs are located directly in front of the dive centre, allowing easy shore dives and excellent night dives. A short 20-minute boat ride brings us to small tropical islands offering additional dive sites, including Gili Lampu and its mangrove that supports very healthy coral reefs. These beautiful reefs are perfect for training dives, skill practice and navigation exercises. During the surface interval we often stop on beautiful sandbanks that appear at low tide. These sandbanks are perfect for relaxing, enjoying the scenery or taking photos between dives. Two longer islands further north offer many additional dive sites.
MARINE LIFE
The reefs of East Lombok are rich in biodiversity and still relatively untouched. Divers regularly encounter sea turtles, reef sharks, eagle rays, frogfish, seahorses, clownfish, lionfish, and large schools of tropical reef fish. Depending on the season, larger species such as manta rays or whale sharks occasionally appear in the region.
FROM BEGINNER TO DIVEMASTER
You can join the internship at any certification level.
The program may include:
• PADI Open Water Diver
• PADI Advanced Open Water Diver
• Emergency First Response
• PADI Rescue Diver
• PADI Divemaster
Because every diver progresses differently, the program is flexible and adapted to your experience and goals.
REAL EXPERIENCE IN A WORKING DIVE CENTER
Our Divemaster Internship focuses on hands-on training and real diving experience. During the program you will learn how a professional dive center operates and develop the skills required of a dive leader.
Training includes:
• assisting diving courses
• guiding certified divers
• organizing dive trips
• managing dive equipment
• practicing rescue scenarios
• improving buoyancy and navigation skills
By the end of the internship you will have not only the certification but also the practical experience required to start working in the dive industry.
MINIMUM 80 LOGGED DIVES
During the internship you will complete numerous dives in different conditions.
By the end of the program, Divemaster candidates finish with at least 80 dives in their logbook, including:
• training dives
• assisting instructors
• navigation and rescue practice
• fun dives
• night dives

DIVE EQUIPMENT INCLUDED
All scuba diving equipment is included during the internship. This allows you to focus on learning and gaining experience without worrying about rental equipment costs. Still, if you come with your own full dive gear, you can get a discount.
ACCOMMODATION AT THE DIVE HOTEL
Interns can stay directly at East Lombok Dive Hotel, located just a few steps from the dive center and the beach. 28 m² rooms include air conditioning, sea-view terrace, Wi-Fi, work desk, 8 m² private bathroom with hot shower, western toilets, towels and free access to the kitchen.
Prices per room for scuba divers:
• 262,500 IDR / night or 7.5 million IDR / month (1–2 persons)
• 312,500 IDR / night or 9 million IDR / month (3 persons)
• 362,500 IDR / night or 10.5 million IDR / month (4 persons)
​MEAL PACKAGE
Interns can add a full meal plan for 100,000 IDR per day, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, unlimited drinking water, tea and coffee.

Includes all courses from Open Water to Divemaster.
Price: 52 million IDR + 4.5 million IDR (PADI Crew Pack)
Advanced Diver → Divemaster
Duration: 6–8 weeks
Includes Rescue Diver and Divemaster training.
Price depends on the number of logged dives you have at the beginning of the course.
Rescue Diver → Divemaster
Duration: 4–6 weeks
Full Divemaster training.

At East Lombok Dive Hotel, protecting nature and supporting the local community are important parts of our philosophy. We regularly organize beach clean-ups and environmental awareness activities, and encourage both locals and visitors to participate. The dive center also works with local schools, authorities and community initiatives, helping with educational projects and training programs. As one of the pioneer dive centers in the area, we believe it is our responsibility to help protect the natural beauty of East Lombok while supporting sustainable tourism.​

DIVEMASTER INTERNSHIP FAQ
Do I need prior certification?
No, you can start as a complete beginner. All courses up to Divemaster are included.
How long is the internship?
Depends on your level: beginners 2–3 months, advanced divers 4–8 weeks.
How many dives will I log?
Enough to get a minimum of 80 dives by the end of the program, including training, assisting, fun dives, and night dives.
Is accommodation available?
Yes, with optional meal plan.
Do I need my own gear?
No, all equipment is provided, but if you come with your own full dive gear, you can get a discount.
Can I work while doing the internship?
The program is intensive and immersive; focus on training for best results.
Where are the dives located?
Shore dives in front of the hotel, plus boat-accessible sites in East Lombok.
